2026 In The West – Day 3 Sand?

I spent the night the night at a Nebraska National Forest camp site. It was a bit cool at 30F. I found the geology fascinating where it is basically sand dunes where prairie grass grew over them and stabilized the land. Cattle is the main thing here and if there was overgrazing it would become sand dunes again. There was also an ancient ocean here. The cliffs are sandstone which is the sand made into a concrete by water.

Also when through Scotts Bluff which was a key landmark for those on the Oregon Trail. I ended the day in Fort Collins to connect with Natasha.
